Coding and Robotics – 4th week

A visit at the studio – This week, two families with children who were considering joining us, visited the studio. The ones who gave the parents and the children the tour and explained how the studio works were the Eagles. It was so exciting and heartwarming to see how beautiful and profound their explanations were, and how much they convey the message about the uniqueness of the studio in the most authentic and clear way.

Art – This week we finished the Art from Nature quest, I added a photo at the beginning of the post. I love seeing how different the Eagles’ works are from each other (as opposed to some other art classes, in which all the students come out with the same product). Each Eagle gave a lot of attention in her work, and the products reflect this well.

Morning Launch – At Thursday’s morning launch we played a game found in this video. Then we had a fascinating discussion about whether mistakes are “good” or “bad”, whether failure is “good” or “bad”. At the end I sent off the Eagles with this question: why do we feel bad when we are wrong or when we fail, if we all agree mistakes and failures are so good for us?

“Treasure Hunt” – For those who remember, at the beginning of the year, one of the Eagles offered to play the “Treasure Hunt” game upon the map of the United States. Each day, when the Eagles arrive on time for all the activities, they get a clue about the state that has the treasure, and every day they can move one state towards the treasure. This week, the Eagles finished another round of the game and arrived in Montana, where Alden and I had decided the treasure was. Every time the Eagles find the treasure, they can choose how they want to celebrate, and this week they chose a “pizza party”. It was fun and delicious!
